Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce

Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce

INGREDIENTS
1small onion, diced
4garlic cloves, minced
1⁄2cup whiskey, Jack Daniels
2cups ketchup
1⁄4cup vinegar
2tablespoons tomato paste
1⁄4cup Worcestershire sauce
1⁄3cup brown sugar
2tablespoons liquid smoke
1⁄2teaspoon pepper
1⁄2teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS
In a medium saucepan, combine onion, garlic and whiskey. Simmer over medium heat for about 7 minutes or until onion is translucent.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.
Puree in food processor or blender.

Refrigerate for at least 1 day to blend flavours.

The first time I made this, Tonya came in from outside and could smell the BBQ Sauce on the stove.  She went to the drawer and got a spoon.  She tasted the BBQ Sauce.  Without saying anything, she then went into the cupboard and got a small bowl and had some of the BBQ Sauce like it was some sort of soup.  She said that it was too yummy to waste on Ribs.

Comments and suggestions are ALWAYS welcome
