Homemade McRibs

🍖 Homemade McRib (Copycat Style)

Ingredients
For the pork:
1½–2 lb pork shoulder or pork butt
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika

For the BBQ glaze:
1 cup BBQ sauce (sweet + smoky works best)
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

For the sandwich:
Hoagie or sub rolls (soft white bread)
Dill pickle slices
Thin-sliced white onion

🔥 Method
1. Slow-cook the pork
Season pork with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Place in a slow cooker with ½ cup water.
Cook:
LOW: 7–8 hours
HIGH: 4–5 hours
Until it’s fall-apart tender.

2. Shape & glaze
Shred the pork, then pack it tightly into a loaf pan to form a “rib slab.”
Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour (helps it hold shape).
Slice into rectangular patties.

3. Make the glaze
Stir together BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire.

4. Broil or grill
Brush patties with glaze.
Broil 4–5 minutes per side or grill over medium heat until caramelized and sticky.

5. Assemble
Toast rolls lightly.
Add pork patty, onions, pickles, and extra sauce.

Top with bun and enjoy 😋
🔥 Pro Tips (McDonald’s Vibe)
• Use a sweeter BBQ sauce
• Go heavy on onions and pickles
• Soft white hoagie rolls = authentic feel
