Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp



Ingredients

4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup instant oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
dash of nutmeg

Stuff you will need

Oven proof baking dish
Apple Peeler
Mixing bowls

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Layer apples in pan. Mix butter, flour and brown sugar until lumpy. Add oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour over apples. Bake for 30 minutes. 


I always thought that Apple Crisp was some sort of Mystery Gift from the cooks to the crew when I sailed on our Canadian War Ships.  Turns out, it was an easy way to get rid of apples that were turning soft.
