If you are like me, I have to plan ahead as to when I would need heavy cream. Now I don't have to wait.
Ingredients
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp cornstarch
Directions
Add the cornstarch to a small bowl.
Slowly whisk in about ¼ cup of the milk until smooth (no lumps).
Pour this slurry into a saucepan with the remaining milk.
Heat over medium, stirring constantly.
Cook 3–5 minutes until thickened to a cream-like consistency.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
How to use it:
✅ Great for: soups, gravies, sauces, mac & cheese, baking
❌ Not good for: whipping or making whipped cream
