Sizzling Pepper Chicken Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced into thin strips 🍗
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil 🛢️
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced 🧅
- 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced into strips 🌶️
- 3 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
- 1 inch ginger, grated 🥢
- 3 tbsp soy sauce 🍜
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional) 🍲
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening) 🌽
- Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
- Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish 🌿
Directions:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions and cook until they begin to caramelize, about 5 minutes. Then, add the sliced bell peppers, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the peppers are tender-crisp.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using), stirring to combine. Add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.
