My friend, Mike Sigrist, used to rave about Christmas Crack.
Time to bring it to the next level. The DELUXE level.
Ingredients
What ever Christmas Crackers you have laying around
Graham crackers
Saltenes
Ritz crackers
1 1/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups of milk chocolate chips
Celtic salt
Stuff you will need
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
Cake Spatula
Sauce pan
High heat Spatula
Zip lock bag or storage container
Directions
In a nice military like order, create files of cookies.
Bust up the saltines and spread over the cookies, as some of the cookies may not be perfectly square.
In the sauce pan, add the butter and brown sugar. Heat to medium. Using your high heat spatula, keep stirring till bubbly and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
Transfer your butter/sugar mix, and pour over the crackers. Make sure the butter/sugar mixture covers all the crackers.
Oven to 350 F. Bake for 5 minutes.
Pour the milk chocolate chips over the butter/sugar layer.
Put the pan, back in the oven for one minute, with the oven door left open a crack.
Using your long cake spatula, flatten out the melted milk chocolate chips.
Sprinkle the celtic sea salt over the chocolate.
Let this all harden on the counter for a few hours.
Remove the Deluxe Christmas Crack from the parchment paper. Crack up the Crack. This is why they call it Christmas Crack.
Store in a Zip Lock bag in the freezer if you are making this ahead of time. Otherwise keep your Deluxe Christmas Crack on the counter and watch it vanish.
