Sweet Marie Bar

I vaguely remember this chocolate bar as a kid.  But they have stopped making them.

Ingredients

4 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups salted peanuts
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
2 Tbsp coconut oil

Stuff you will need

9 x 12 deep pan
Parchment paper
Mixing bowl
Sauce pan
Spatula
Microwave resistant mixing bowl
Cutting board
Sharp knife

Directions

Line your pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Rice Krispies and peanuts in the mixing bowl.

In the sauce pan, add peanut butter, corn syrup and brown sugar.  Heat to medium.  You are heating this mixture to get it mixed.  Do not boil or heat to bubbling.  Do not walk away from the stove once you start this.

Once heated and mixed, now transfer that to the Rice Krispies and peanuts.  Mix this well and transfer to the baking dish.

Press this mixture into the pan.  Get it into every crevice.

In the microwave safe mixing bowl, add the chocolate, and butterscotch chips, along with the coconut oil.  Heat 30 seconds at a time.  Again, you are not cooking it, just heating it so that it "flows".

Transfer this and spread it on top of the peanut mixture.  Spread this layer out.

Let this rest on the counter top for about 4 hours.

Lift out of the baking dish and on to a cutting board.  Remove the parchment paper and cut into squares or bars.
