Oven Parmesan Onion Rings

Great.  Something else that wants to make me fat. Or are they?  Just a little cheese, onions and spices...

🔥 Oven Parmesan Onion Rings

Ingredients:

  • 2 large yellow or sweet onions, thinly sliced into rings
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (not the powdery kind — use shredded if possible)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika for more flavor)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Cooking spray (olive or avocado oil)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil and spray lightly with oil.

  2. Prepare the onions: Peel and slice onions into thin rings. Separate the rings carefully.

  3. Seasoning mix: In a shallow bowl, mix garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and salt.

  4. Spread a layer of Parmesan Cheese on the cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. Arrange onion rings on the baking sheet in a single layer.

  6. Spray lightly with oil for extra crisp.

  7. Season the onions

  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden and crispy. Thinner slices may cook faster, so keep an eye on them after 15 minutes.

Serving Tip: These are best right out of the oven. Pair with a low-cal dipping sauce like Greek yogurt mixed with sriracha, or sugar-free ketchup.
