White Garlic Pizza Sauce

Here's a rich and creamy White Garlic Pizza Sauce recipe that works perfectly as a base for white pizzas, chicken pizzas, or veggie flatbreads.

White Garlic Pizza Sauce

🧄 Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups whole milk (or half-and-half for richer sauce)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for subtle heat)

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Sauté Garlic:

    • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
  2. Make the Roux:

    • Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, whisking constantly to form a smooth paste.
  3. Add Milk:

    • Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
    • Simmer for 2–4 minutes until thickened.
  4. Cheese & Seasoning:

    • Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
    • Simmer 1–2 minutes more, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Cool Slightly & Use:

    • Let cool slightly before spreading on your pizza dough.

🍕 Tips:

  • If it thickens too much, add a splash more milk.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Also great as a dipping sauce for breadsticks!
