- ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for subtle heat)
🍳 Instructions:
-
Sauté Garlic:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
-
Make the Roux:
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, whisking constantly to form a smooth paste.
-
Add Milk:
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
- Simmer for 2–4 minutes until thickened.
-
Cheese & Seasoning:
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer 1–2 minutes more, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
-
Cool Slightly & Use:
- Let cool slightly before spreading on your pizza dough.
🍕 Tips:
- If it thickens too much, add a splash more milk.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- Also great as a dipping sauce for breadsticks!
